Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the NovaBrief mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

NovaBrief is a personalized news application that curates and delivers AI-assisted news briefings based on the topics and sources you choose, and lets you ask follow-up questions about stories ("Ask Nova").

2. Your Account

You must create an account (via Apple, Google, or email) to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current.

3. Subscriptions, Free Trial & Billing

• NovaBrief is offered as an auto-renewable subscription: Monthly ($9.99/month) or Annual ($79.99/year), with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account. After any free trial, your subscription automatically renews at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple ID Account → Subscriptions settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Except where required by law or Apple's policies, payments are non-refundable. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including: reverse-engineering or interfering with it; accessing it by automated means; attempting to access other users' data; or using it for unlawful purposes.

5. AI-Generated Content

Briefings, summaries, and Ask Nova responses are generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. The Service is provided for general information only and is not professional, financial, legal, medical, or investment advice. Verify important information with primary sources before relying on it.

6. Third-Party Content

The Service surfaces headlines and links from third-party news sources. NovaBrief does not own that content and is not responsible for its accuracy or availability. Trademarks and content belong to their respective owners.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by NovaBrief and protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NOVABRIEF WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account, which permanently removes your account and associated data. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
